the fire hydrant gnome

Sometime near Christmas of 2001, I arrived at work to find an odd sight in the parking lot. Some clever person had placed a slightly bent traffic cone atop a fire hydrant. I thought that the bent cone looked like the sort of floppy hats that gnomes and elves tend to favor. This spontaneous bit of sculpture seemed particularly appropriate for the holiday season. I was tempted to use the wreath from the door of the office building to give him a nice festive belt, but I just took some pictures instead.

hot glue some curly-toed shoes to the base and it would be even more festive
