NiftyDrop v1.0 ================================================== copyright 1998 Brian Sulcer About NiftyDrop --------------- NiftyDrop is a modular backdrop application for your Newton. The NiftyDrop core can be enhanced by the addition of module packages. These modules add new components to the backdrop application (ex. volume slider). Modules can be resized and rearranged within the backdrop's window so you can customize the layout. Selected modules may also be deactivated without removing the module package. The result is a backdrop application which can be as functional or as lightweight as you like. Using NiftyDrop --------------- To make NiftyDrop your backdrop application, highlight its icon (NiftyDrop) in the ExtrasDrawer and select "Make Backdrop" from the action button popup menu. To setup NiftyDrop, you must install the NiftyDrop Setup package. This package is only needed for setup of NiftyDrop and is not needed for normal operation of NiftyDrop. Once opened, NiftyDrop Setup presents you with a list of preference panels. These are Active Modules, Module Positioning and Sizing and individual module preference panels. The Active Modules panel allows you to configure which of the installed modules are active. There are two sets of active module preferences; one for portrait orientations and one for landscape. The Module Positioning and Sizing panel allows you to rearrange and resize the currently active modules. There are two sets of positon and size settings; one for portait orientations and one for landscape. The screen will be rotated, if necessay, when you select one of the orientations to configure. To move a module, tap anywhere inside the border of its window and drag. To resize a module, tap and drag the resize grabber in the lower-right corner of the module's window. If a module has no resize grabber, then it is not resieable. When you are done configuring the layout for that orientation, tap the "Done" button. The screen will be returned to its previous orientation if needed. Preference panels for installed modules will allow you to configure features of those modules. See modules/modules-readme.txt for information on each of the modules distributed with NiftyDrop. Registration Info ----------------- This package is freeware.
